    Carrie Moore

As an artist and printmaker, my work is grounded in simple line, shape and form.  From my early days fly fishing in Montana, images in nature have been central to my work. The art and craft of carving is something I love to share and teach to both adults and children. Seeing the negative space as I create my drawings is equally important as the positive space.

In my abstract pastel work, I often combine the shared space, line and colors of nature as it meets, matches and melds into the human, figurative form.

2014 ushers in new work embossing leather into my linocut blocks, creating timeless one of a kind art bags and totes, as well as sculpted sea creatures in leather.  As well, 3 dimensional works in copper are emerging in the studio.  My favorite image in nature and in my copper?  Salmon.

2014 welcomes a beautiful hilltop “Studio on the Knoll” on acreage in Oregon City where I create, teach, and share the space with out of town, visiting, teaching artists.
